High Desert Members Win at Forest Grove

Bill & Mary Zilk's 1967 Irish Green 911S being driven by Tim Morris
The 41stAnnual Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance was Sunday, July 21st and fellow High Desert members Bill and Mary Zilk were big winners.
Bill and Mary used the excitement and buzz generated by their decisive “Peoples Choice” award at our Show n’ Shine last month to come home with the “Big One”.   Showing their gorgeous 1967 Irish Green 911S sunroof coupe, they won “Best of Show – Closed – Post War”.  There where 80 other serious competitors in this group, all vying for the “Best Of” honor: this was no “give me” win.
As most of us have enjoyed watching this restoration unfold this past year at German Master Tech (GMT), we all have a special spot in our Porsche hearts for it.  Now it’s on to Carmel.  With this being the 50thanniversary of the 911, you know there will be a lot of very serious competition down there. Best of luck to Bill and Mary in Carmel. May you come home with the “Bigger One”!
Let’s not forget fellow High Desert member Tim Morris of GMT, the restoration shop here in Bend. Great job guys!
