The Kentucky Derby is a horse race held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, almost always on the first Saturday in May, capping the two-week-long Kentucky Derby Festival. The competition is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds at a distance of one and a quarter miles (2.0 km) at Churchill Downs. Put on your best Kentucky Derby outfits and join us for a potluck lunch, mint juleps, Great Dane races, games, and more to watch the official Kentucky Derby Races on the big screen.
All HDRPCA Board members should attend. Other club members may attend and may speak if called upon by the President.
Calling all drivers…Spring is in the air! As the region prepares to host spirited excursions through the high desert and beyond, we invite you to volunteer for some highway 20 roadside "spring cleaning". Come join your fellow HDRPCA members at 9am on Saturday, May 11th. Coffee, donuts, and prizes will award your participation. We’ll meet up in the Rt. 20 (McKenzie-Bend Hwy) pull-off area 0.2 miles west of Fryrear Road, roughly half-way to Sisters. Coordinates: 44°13‘04.9"N 121°25‘36.6"W.
BYOB Social Hour: 6:00pm
Dinner: 7:00pm
Brief meeting and raffle to follow
Chilled water will be available at the Club, bring your choice of other beverages.
Dinner will be buffet style
Feel free to join us for the meeting even if you do not want dinner.

You will have the opportunity to walk the sanctuary grounds, which provide a safe and enriching environment for the chimpanzees. You‘ll also get to meet their expert team, who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about their work or their residents.
